Wow, somehow I missed a lot of discussion over the past few days (didn't get all of the alerts through email). Anyway, with Easter and family, I didn't get much done this past weekend. Made a handful of wood clamps and cleaned up around the shop a bit,

As far as aligning the forms go, I have rigged a post at each end of the strongback and pulled mason's line from end to end (very tight I might say). The tricky part will not be to get the right height but make sure the forms are level. Therefore, I thought about taking a small 12" or 24" level and clamping it to the form (going across the shear line marks) and then setting the form height while miking sure it is level. Should work. I started setting the forms (clamps only) on Sunday by using the string and making sure that the form was square to the strongback but then I thought "What if the strongback as a slight amount of twist in it?".

This lead me to the idea of using a level. Hopefully I'll get a chance to get out there tonight and do a little more work. As far as cedar goes, my local HD doesn't carry it anymore and the local Lowes has an absolutely horrible selection. I found a place down in Fredrick MD (about 1.5hrs from me) that sells marine supplyies. I need to give them a call and check out prices.
