the laser should make really short work of it.

If you do figure out how to do this quickly, please post instructions here!

I tried the laser on my last build and found that I needed the 'pile of sticks and spring clamps' anyway, since the laser beam can't curve around the hull to follow the DWL.

Perhaps holes drilled through the forms on each side, a few inches from the centerline would have helped me.

Folk who use the 'align the centerlines, and get them plumb/vertical, and use the rocker measurements to set the form heights' method probably find the laser more useful.

I got exasperated with adjusting the laser tripod, etc. and went back to the 'length of thread' and 'by eye' method.
