Good ol' George. I'm impressed by his passion for some of his ideas, and I'm certainly going to try this one -- but for different reasons than George's. He cites greater strength. I'm convicnced the cost will be lower. (OK, so I'm on a tight budget -- aren't we all?)

I worked on recalculating the numbers for the forms for Putz's 17 and 18.5 foot boats. Again, to save money on the wood. meanwhile, I've been playing with the plans for a folding 12.5 foot kayak. A Blandford design. I bought the plans from ClarkCraft and thought I'd put to gether a non folder to see how the thing handled. If I liked it, then I'd go ahead and make the folding mechanisms. Right now I need to finish the floor, seat and cockpit coaming, and also staple on the deck. I have the parts, but not the time. Sometime this summer, though. And then tere is that plywood Walrus. I like what Mike did with his and once I have the forms set up I'll use up some of the 1/8th inch plywood I have in the garage.
