I used the 2 oz glass on my last canoe, in multiple layers, ala George.

I got the glass from Raka, mainly because the samples I got from Defender were contaminated. (I don't like Defender)

I wetout 2 layers at a time, because when applying the epoxy (with a brush) to 1 layer, I couldn't put on a small enough amount and the glass would "float". I think your on the right track to try to put epoxy on 1st, I didn't because it was hard enough to get the glass to conform to the hull dry. Let us know how it works out.

I noticed that with the 2 oz, I got more small, square air bubbles, then with heavier glass.

Also, the edges of the underlayers are noticable, but not like heavier glass.

I used some of the 2 oz on some paddles I refinished, the ends wore off in 1 40 mile BW trip.

: of my other crazy ideas: making panels from woodstrips, and using those
