Paul, what do you call a "Small batch of resin"? I recently finished my Guillemot S&G and I used either 4 or 6 pumps of West Systems resin for each batch as I was wetting out the cloth. Do you consider this large? medium? small? Is there a general consensus on this board of how much makes a small or large batch?

Anyone feel free to jump in here. I'm just curious. This being my first experience with epoxy, I didn't do a perfect job, but I learned a lot, and I'm sure my next boat will be much more beautiful for it.

: Small batches of resin work best. Once I thought I had the technique mastered
: I mixed a batch of resin that was about twice the size of the previous
: batch, and it was a big mistake. The resin "kicked" and got hot
: far faster than I expected. Once it started to thicken it was totally a
: waste.
