Why settle? I'd choose the rounded flattened V!

To my eye, most of the best designs incorporate a bit of all three. Vs at the ends blending into rounder then into more flattened amidships.

The rounder (overall) sections are not as evident to the eye on the hard chine designs - but even with these there are sections the water sees as being pretty effectively round.
