: The only "V" bottom hulls I know of are the Necky Arulk II and the
: Eddyline Falcon 16 - both have been taken off the market. The Eddyline
: Fallcone 16 used to frighten new buyers. Both were very tippy. The Nigel
: Foster silouhette is a mild "V" hull and although has nice
: traits can be a bit tippy. In my experience, "V" hulls teeter
: back and forth and you are never sitting comfortably in a smooth stable
: spot. You do gain speed but I don't like the sacrifice.

: I find the Anas very flat on the bottom in the mid section. I find most home
: built hard chine boats pretty flat in the mid section. Your stability will
: be determined by width and how far you carry that flatness forward and
: back.

: If I were you, I would try some boats and make an angle gauge and record what
: youÊlike. Because if you put all that work into building a boat with a
: "V" hull and it teeters back an forth, you will not be a happy
: person to say the least.

: Years back, my brother and I build Chesapeake Light Craft 17' s at the same
: time. Mine got a little more "V" in the hull than his. Mine
: sucked. It teetered back and forth. His was OK. It doesn't take much
: "V" to get that teetering back and forth thing. It has to do
: with the weight / ratio capacity. If you put a "V" hull boat on
: land - that's the effect. The same boat can teeter a light person and a
: heaver person will sink it a bit and not get it.

NDK Greenlander both the standard and the Pro have a fairly V'd bottom and both also tend to rock side to side at rest, that goes away completely once any forward speed comes into play. Both are also fairly quick and track like on rails.

Why I wouldn't want a flat bottom.
