As mentioned above portage carts ARE NOT allowed in the majority of the BWCA. Only a few portages around motor lakes like Basswood allow them. Are you paddeling alone? Other wise I would say a two person carry would work the best. With the fire load in the BW this year you might want to consider glassing in some asbestos! Ha!

P.S. I also served some time on the tundra at UND a kayak would have come in handy to paddle to graduation at the Fritz in '97! Trav
