The problem wasn't the epoxy, it was the method. The way to make this a strong joint comes in two parts. First mix a batch of epoxy and coat boat parts of the joint. MAS works well here, because you want it to soak in to the grain. Then, after as much as is going to soak in has done so, thicken the epoxy with wood flour. Coat the parts with the thickened epoxy and fit parts together, taping or clampin as nescesary. The thickend epoxy fills the gaps and w't soak in, but will chemically bond withthe stuff soaked in the wood. Works great! AL
