>I use my router to scarf my strips. That includes 3/16" X 3/16". I made a fixture out of plywood. It has a plywood base that I clamp to a table, two, 8 x 1 ramps that my router rides on, and a few pieces of wood that I use to clamp the strips down. I insert the strip, take a rough cut, then a finish cut using a half inch router bit and it's done. I place the scarfed strips on a flat surface with a piece of wax paper beneath the joint. I glue with Titebond II and place waxed paper on top of the joint along with a block of wood and a weight. Give it enough time to dry and it's done.
