> thanks dave Hi Dave, Well I'm a member of the club having finished my arctic tern a couple of weeks ago too. I purchased from pygmy the knee braces of minicell foam and plywood too. I set up my footbraces in the proper (most comfortable) position. I epoxied the plywood, put the foam in place and carved a comfortable fit for my Knees and thighs and then epoxied the plywood/foam to the underside of the coaming/deck. You just sort of have to feel for the right spot for the brace position you want. I got 3 blocks of minicell foam from pygmy. From one I carved out form fitting hip braces (not tight with some room to spare) with my bandsaw. The knee braces protrude into the cockpit some, but not all that much. I'm 6' and 165. Getting into and out of the cockpit is still fairly easy. I feel I can now get a nice comfortable grip on the boat when I need to. My hip pads are cemented to the plastic seat back and flip up when I flip the seat back up. Walt
