Having finished the Chesapeake 17' (and finding CLC staff to be extremely friendly and helpful), I was looking forward to building their new North Bay from a kit. CLC answered several questions that I had regarding weight, size, etc. but I explained that I already had fiberglass and epoxy and didn't need that additional material included in the kit (or the kit price). The relevent portion of my e-mail exchange with them is below:

BL: (a)I already have PLENTY of fiberglass and epoxy...don't need any more...if this is a kit, can't the standard 'glass and epoxy be removed (and taken off the price)?

CLC: We only sell complete kits; sorry.

I was caught a bit off-guard by their response. CLC has normally gotten very high marks for their customer service/kit customization. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but I was less than impressed with their response. As a result of their attitude , my next boat will be a "basic" kit from Pgymy, not CLC.
