It is a good idea to have a second person help you get the kayak up on the vehicle. I learned this the hard way!!!!

I use a tow ball post,now,with a cradle on top but it's on a salon car.This makes loading and unloading very easy.The Stern goes on the post,first,whilst the bow is on the ground.I have just one cradle on the front roof bar.This arrangement needs just two ties and allows stress free,single person,loading and travel.No bow or stern line is needed.I recomend this simple to use system for any tired solo paddlers,especially ones over 50:-)
