That's one of those steps I missed completely...I traced out the sheer lines but not the water lines. I've had to readjust this station earlier, so what I'll do is just pull it out completely, reverify against the template. I've been using the scarfed strips to site down the edge and if I pull the strips to align with the sheer line, it definitely bows the strip. The only reason I think it's an issue is because the strips conform to the sheer points almost effortlessly across the remaining 9 stations, it's just this one that's half an inch off off the natural resting strip.

I'll check it again when I get my basement pass tonight (i.e. kids bath)...

I'll check out that low angle block plane as well, but I'm closing to picking up one of those lee valley planes...I just need to work up the courage to pull out my checkbook.

For shts and giggles, I tried truing up a harbor freight plane...wow talk about a comical waste of time. I could glue up metal scraps that had more precision than one of those kit planes (purchased when I was young and stupid)...
