That's one of those steps I missed completely...I traced out the sheer lines but not the water lines.

If it were my project, I'd 'back up' at this point. I'd pull the forms, mark the waterlines and then re-set the forms in place, using the waterlines and centerlines to keep things 'squared up'.

Once I get the forms aligned, I always staple a bunch of shorter scrap strips on to the forms to 'lock' them in place - this works better if the strips are applied on a bit of a diagonal, IMO. It's worth ripping a handful of strips from a 2x4 or similar for this purpose if you don't want to punch holes in your 'good scrap' strips. ;-)
