Also helpful usually to use a dry paint brush to get the dry fiberglass to lay completely flat before you start with the resin, lots easier to scoot the glass a little with the brush than using your gloved hands. Don't touch the unused glass with your bare hands btw, the oil from your hands can cause issues, always wear disposable gloves. (you don't find this mentioned often).

BTW, I hate using a squeegee to spread resin, I do it either with a very low nap paint roller or a disposable brush. When you learn using polyester resin in the summer's heat you learn to work very quickly, taking the time to pull resin with a squeegee isn't in the cards with polyester resin.
