I'm not familiar with Maxwell brand paint and don't find it searching the web. The Ben Moore paint is something I sought out after reading about it online in forums where folks has switched to it instead of Interlux Brightsides for restoring old machine tools and tractors, etc.. these same folks typically also use Rustoleum enamal which seems to be the most popular coating for polyester skinned SOF's. The Ben Moorer P22 is a professional paint that might fall in the middle between the hardware paint and the marine paint.

For fabric I've onl used stuff from Dyson.
