: More than likely, this Dood is going to need a paddle soon (we'll assume
: they're too dumb to buy a PFD or other equipment). Contact every
: paddlesports shop, every sporting goods store, every canoe rental
: business..everyone you can think of with an interest in paddlesports.
: They're more likely to notice something amiss, and more likely to
: recognize your boat than the police. The police have so much other stuff
: to worry about, and most of the general public (police probably included)
: can't differentiate a canoe from a kayak, so....

: You are most likely to find it right away, so do as much as possible, as
: quick as possible. After a week, your chances will drop off exponentially
: as the theives may take it far from TN.

: Sorry and good luck,

: Shawn

Thanks for every ones responses. It makes it some what less painful to hear others stories. I did make a report with the police right away, but it seems they are so busy in Memphis that it will take them 3-5 days to file a report on a case such as this. I did not expect them to find it any way. This is not a jab at the police department, they do have plenty enough to keep them busy.

I brought pictures to the local paddle shops today and have posted messages on bulletin boards. My fear is that this boat will end up sunk in some farm pond in a week and no one will get any enjoyment out of it. If I am lucky maybe some one will come acoss it.

My wife started a web page for me this weekend and I did get some pictures of the boat before it was stolen. The web page should be listed below.

Thanks again to everyone for the building information and the response to this thread.
