It take me about three hours to wet out a hull. Usually, I'll have the glass ready to go on a thursday night, and wet it out on a friday night. I use the yellow squeegees for taping sheetrock, and mix 6 oz batches. I use MAS slow cure and have not had a problem with it going off in the pot. If it starts to get a little warm, I'll pour it on the hull at the keel and let it spread itself out. Then, I work it outward about 18" at a time, down both sides. I put it on, then go back after ten minutes or so and squeege it out, reusing the epoxy as I go. The little bubbles dissapear when you add alittle clean goo and mix it. Ive never had good luck with the rollers, to each thier own. And Ive never used a sealer coat except on end grain. Also, I put 2 layers of 4oz RAKA glass on the Spring Run. The first layer I put on the bias, let it cure and feathered the seams where they ran diagonally over the hull. Then the second layer straight. I think I saved several yards of glass that way. Hope this helps! It's a big step toward the water!

: Funny how sometimes things happen just at the right time. I finished sanding
: my Merganser and am getting ready to glass. I had toyed with the idea of
: adding reinforment firts, letting it cure, feathering it, and then
: applying the final layer of glass. After reading these posts I have
: decided against it. I'll put on the 4oz layer of glass, and then decide if
: I should add reinforcement along the bottom. Thanks for all the input, and
: thanks for asking some great questions.
: By the way, does anyone have an opinion on how long it should take to wet out
: a hull...I'm trying to figure out when to do this. For a first try, can
: this be accomplished in an evening?

: Thanks,
: Angela
