It did wet out properly. The glass looked perfect for the first couple of years. My boats do sit in an unheated boathouse over Canadian winters, but I don't think that is the problem. I'm pretty sure that it was because I did not do enough fill coats and did not varnish the inside. I did not varnish the inside of two of my boats and on both the epoxy broke down after a couple of years. Counting back, it was actually about 3 years before I first noticed the problem. On the kayaks where I did fill coats and varnished inside, there has been no problems.

: After looking at John Waddington's pic ... the appearance reminds
: me of the look of glass cloth that has for some reason refused
: to completely wet out ... I've seen this several times on seam
: tape. I'm wondering that when the cloth was wet out ... perhaps
: the cloth in those areas might have looked wet out but was in
: fact not completely wet out. And over time ... considering
: shrinkage of the epoxy and wear and tear ... the epoxy has
: simply flaked away.
