Got the frame temporarily lashed together with fishing line, until the artificial sinew I ordered from Jeff arrives. I gotta thank Jeff again for the videos on lashing and sewing polyester. Temporarily lashing the fishing line gave me practice tying those knots for the sinew.

The deck ridges, fore and aft, are all installed. I just glued them to the formers, as the joints were neat. The stringers are glued to the stem plates, too. I figure I ought to lash them, just to be on the same side.

It came out a little long, due to the length of the keel and gunwales. 15' 8". 24 lbs as shown in the attached image. Once I get the skin on there, I think I'm going to be happy with the weight.

While I'm waiting for the sinew... I may as well start thinking about paint schemes. The wife likes the idea of Rustoleum's Color Shift paint. I'm not so sure... I have the feeling it'll turn my 'yak into a wanna-be-redneck-bass-boat. Don't get me wrong, I may be awful blueneck at times (northern redneck, cold weather turns the neck blue, get it?), but I'm not sure if I can pull that off. I do bet there'd be no problems with it being visible, though. I'm thinking yellow bow/stern for a foot or two, then a few feet of green, and blue around the coaming. I ought to be able to come up with some artistic way of doing that without bringing that "Yep, you've got the mentality of an engineer" comment from the wife.
