I would have thought that Greenland paddles were oiled with seal fat if they were oiled at all. ;)

Both tung and linseed oil will work on a paddle. Use what you have or what you can get.
One thing between the two oils for me is that it is very easy for me to get pure linseed oil locally, pure tung oil is very difficult to find, bar having it shipped or special order, which increases the cost of it. Given my lack of problems with linseed oil, the extra cost and delay doesn't make tung oil really worth it.

There are arguments about whether linseed promotes mold growth. I haven't gotten any mold in the wood of my kayaks or paddle, all linseeded, but I paddle exclusively on salt water.
