Epoxy will give a "wet" look when it cures. No need to pre-finish. Tung Oil will not adhere to epoxy. If you really want a beautiful look then after you final sand the epoxy coat it with Goldspar varnish- minimum of three coats. It has a beautiful golden glow when the light hits it, which I assume is how it got the name! It also is UV resistant.
