If they would just stalk the seal, the kayaks would remind more Koryak kayaks. However Greenland people made long, narrow and fast kayaks which means the speed was clearly one objective. There's many different designs types in Greenland. I assume most of those have been influenced by the local wave circumstances. some kayaks atleast looks they have been made for larger "oceanic" waves while some kayaks have clearly been made for tighter chop - like the knk2050 which Aaron posted earlier. Btw. this kayak is quite new, so the design area and circumstances are well known.

Apparently you have not seen many designs from Greenland. If you read Harvey's KOG you'll notice the large part of kayaks that are having raised and full bow to ride over waves.

I think the only Greenland models that have been used for hunting in ice flock are the ones in Polar Greenland. Sliding stern makes sense there.
