Congratulations on a great looking boat!!
It really is a good feeling to paddle a boat of your own making..don't forget to look up from admiring that beautiful wood craft every now and then to see where you are going :)

Enjoy it!

: It's been a hell of a weekend. Until I started building my boat I had only
: seen one other stripper. That was one of Nick's I think at a kayak show a
: few years ago. I remember thinking..."yeah it's pretty but who would
: want a big heavy wooden kayak" so I went back to looking at the red
: and yellow plastic boats. I've since seen the light. I saw lots of nice
: boats Saturday at Bluff Point and a lot of good ideas. I've been
: struggling with my hatch hold downs but I saw 2 or 3 better solutions at
: the gathering. That was great but I topped it today when I took my own
: boat on it's maiden voyage. It's not finished...still needs varnish and
: deck rigging but I had to try it. I love it...it tracks, turns, is more
: comfortable and is faster then my old plastic boat. Sitting in a boat I
: built myself and have it perform as well as it did is a very nice
: experience. But you guys know that:)
