Am I understanding your message that you are applying the glass one layer of cloth at a time and allowing the resin to harden before applying the next layer?

Normally all the glass is applied in the same layup. Some types of resin require each layer of cloth to be wet out individually, other types of resin can wet out two or three layers of cloth at the same time. There are other varialbles such as type of cloth, temperature, and levels of radiant heat which affect your working time with the resin before it's no longer workable.

It will still work the way you are doing it but you are probably using more resin than necessary, resulting in more weight and work.

: Am getting ready to glass the hull of a panache. Want to put a second layer
: of glass below the waterline and an additional layer on the stem area.

: After I put the first layer down, let it dry until leathery, was going to put
: the second layer down and put the second coat of epoxy over the whole hull
: without sanding.

: Am assuming if I do this I'll need to let the epoxy completely dry in order
: to fair in the edges of second layer of fiberglass. I'll need to sand the
: whole hull before putting on the third coat of epoxy.

: Any better way to do this?

: Thanks, Bill
