Hi howdy Greg, Do you really think the extra 4" up to the sheer will add another 5 lbs??

I'm planning on doing the same thing, but I'd figure more like 1-2 lbs.

Shawn

: I figure for the extra weight, roughly around 5 lbs, I can save about a week
: just in fairing out the edges of the tape and football shaped second layer
: on the bottom of the hull. I'm kinda up against the clock on this one as
: I'm away for 3 weeks in June and really don't want to be doing epoxy work
: come July. Next boat is going to be started on November. I could save
: weight by using 3 x 3.2 oz but there is very little difference in price up
: here in rural Canada so it's a matter of economics. I want two layers due
: to the rocky nature of the Bay of Fundy, some of those rocks can be real
: nasty and it's only a matter of 4 more inches up the sides to the sheer
: for the most part.
