Thanks, Pete,

I was wondering why you considered the original ends on the design dangerous in surf. I'm fairly new to this, so I need clarification on some things that perhaps should be obvious. Do you mean from a stability point of view?

Just learning the ropes.

Thanks again, and have a wonderful time at the boat show!

Nick

: Hi Nick, Met Joe in Seattle a couple of years ago and paddled one of his
: boats. Very nice craft. I was sold immediately. I built two of the Spring
: Run last winter. Made one modification to the design, rounding the ends a
: little so they wern't so sharp; considered them dangerous in the surf.
: They were easy to build. I went without staples, so I did have to fight
: the ends to keep them on the forms, ended up using a few pounds of hot
: glue. The boats are wonderful. Joe was very helpful during the
: construction. Had the misfortune of dropping one of the hulls during the
: building process. It basically exploded, but I was able to patch things
: togeather. I'm going to the wooden boat show in Homer Alaska next weekend
: with the boats. Feel free to contact me if you have questions.
