I agree w/ all that Paul said, esp about the strongback being most likely the major cause.

The big questions are: Do you want to do something about it? Would it always bug you if there was some minor evidence of having to change it? Would you much rather leave it, or junk it or fix it? Would you think of it as an interesting challeng to make it right? Do you want 2 boats? Could you get up the nerve to do some major hacking?

So the particular questions:

Is the boat twisted? Is it curved evenly, or more pronounced at the ends(hope for more at one particular pt)? How would you feel about splitting it at the centreline for 4-5 feet and along say every 4th strip for the same length?( I guess you prob have staggered jts here but there are many other ways of dealing w/ this - look at Joe Greenleys ctrline)

Tell us what your reaction is to all this? What do you want to do?
