I was thinking about taking the lines of the Vision's hull, and modifying them to get more of a hard chine, and maybe reducing the beam from 25" to 23". Then take the lines of a whitewater boat's deck, and modify those to fit the hull. Use those lines to create forms, get a pile of cedar strips, and go from there. It should still have the Vision's excellent tracking (for it's size) and maneuverability in tight places, plus be easy to roll and do those sorts of things. Add hatches in the deck, and it would have enough volume for gear for day trips - and fairly lightweight as well.

I knew this exchange would get back on topic.
