Ah, it gets almost conversational when you can catch a reply while the steam is still rising! I use the Vista as a "totable" replacement for my 85# 17' aluminum Browning. I travel mostly confined areas such as the local East Branch of the Croton River, and the Patterson Great Swamp. Wouldn't want to get caught rolling in the swamp. I appreciate the good tracking, low effort paddling, and quiet glide while stalking painted turtles and Blue Heron. I've tried leaning turns, confident, stable. If you look at Walden's lines, they are not totally foriegn comapared to some of the revered local designers work, hollows in the bow for lift in a chop. I just happened upon it at a year end rental sale. Next summer we'll take it to Martha's Vineyard and broaden my experience. I have started, (strongback, shortened forms, chine, keel, and sheer) a modified Walrus, slipstreaming Mike Hanks' innovative work. (My Hero) (I can almost hear Tammy chuckling). So, if you dig among my Off-Topic Trip Board ramblings, you can gather I like the Vista. I believe the Vision is very similar below the sheer. Though Walden's new greenlander offering (?) looks great, I believe we can do better by building our own. I'll be interested in hearing your progress. TNX, Scotty
