To bias cut the entire boat, you do need the 60 inch wide cloth you purchased. working with a bias cut with the 38 inch glass is pretty tough. it just means to not lay the rectangular piece of cloth straight over the yak, ie. with some threads lieing exactly with and some exactly perpindicular with seams. instead lay the cloth sorta diagonal along the boat.

hope this helps. this will not give the same shape scrap pieces cut from each side either. in fact, exact opposite unless you flip one piece of scrap over i think.
