Ross:

Although I've heard the terms 1-part, 2-part I'm not really sure of what the distinction is. Brightsides is the brand name (or model) of this Interlux paint and it's what CLC recommends. Cost was about $25 a quart at West Marine and there seem to be about a dozen color choices. I've also noticed the name "Hatteras White" used by other paint manufacturers.

Come to think of it, I have no idea whether 1 quart is going to be enough (too much, not enough?) to put 4 or five coats on the hull. I guess I'll find out soon enough and fortunately West Marine is very close by.

I also took CLC's advice and bought some hi-build primer. But frankly, the hull's so smooth (trying to be modest here) that I can't see the primer filling in many low spots. I suppose the paint does show up small imperfections that aren't visible yet.

I will certainly let you all know how it works out. Peter
