I agree that this board has a great sense of community and a little off topic chat is going to happen. It does make sense to keep this bbs fairly relavent to kayak building matters. What made me press the issue w/ Don was his derogitory manner. There are many other less inflamitory ways he could go about expressing his views. The impersonality of the computer makes it easy for people to step over line with their attitudes acting in ways they wouldn't in normal conversation. Remember that there are humans behind the posts. Please and thank you go along way. I apologize for the direct nature of my posts concerning that subject but i was upset by the out right nasty post on an otherwise relatively mellow BBS. Anger has to be dealt with and so does overstepping the bounds. Maybe its the teacher in me talking but we as a nation have to start increasing the "sense of community" to everyone we meet, not just like minded individuals. Maybe our kids and adults will stop shooting each other if more acceptance was felt for and by others.

The best teaching is by modeling. Something I have to adhere to more closely
