Interesting idea, Marcelo. There is a good, diverse, effective community of paddler-builders on Nick's list, and sometimes we slip off topic, producing intriguing if unrelated side issues. Your question prompted me to first explore the rest of Nick's web site, however, and when I did, I found that he has a lot of other means of sharing paddling e-communication sited --- lists and other resources, some of which I knew about, and some which I didn't, and am now interested in checking out. (One of my favorites, PaddleWise, didn't seem to show up, and I'm motivated to figure our how to add it, as well.)

The technique and safety and logistic elements --- and even the cultural aspects --- of paddling are very well reviewed other places, so maybe another site here for off-topic issues would be unnecessarily redundant. Don't know. On the other hand, this list addresses a distinct subset of the paddling community. We have specific interests, and our shared involvement in the creation of our boats may draw such a unique class of paddler-builders that a way of communicating "after hours" would be good to have. I really like the suggestion. But look at the resources on the entire list, as well. I hadn't, and I'm glad I did.
