The event that you are inquiring about is the 2nd Annual West Coast Wooden Kayak Rendezvous (dubbed R2K - Rendezvous 2000).

It will be held again this year at Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend, Washington on August 19 - 20. Event particulars are still in the works and will be posted here soon. This years event will be even larger and and more comprehensive than last year. Some of the events and demonstrations that we hope to include this year are:

1. Glassing

2. Stripping

3. Basic paddling techniques

4. Rescue (assisted and unassisted)

5. Paddle making

6. Stitch-and-glue discussion and demo

7. Skin-on-frame discussion and demo

8. Hybrid (stripped/S&G) discussion and demo

9. Group paddle

10. Customizing cockpits

Anyone and everyone who wants to build, is building, or has built a kayak is invited and encouraged to attend these rendezvous events. You will be able to meet other building enthusiasts, see their kayaks, talk boat building, and paddle others boats.
