If you can read & follow directions, you'll be fine!! (see my note below about cleaning resin off panels... I'm taking over a pygmy kit that my elderly stepfather 'started.')

Seriously, though, you'll be able to do it in that space. My basement workspace is comparable... a bit longer, also 10 feet wide but functionally narrower, because I've got a line of furniture (couch, loveseat, chair) along one wall (covered in sheets to protect it from sanding dust... I didn't have anywhere else to move it to.) You'll be able to put the boat diagonally so you can get around the ends -- you do need to be able to get to it from both ends.

I already owned a drill, pliers, a block plane & some C-clamps. (not enough, though, so I bought more). I ended up buying a quick grip clamp, a surform, a file, sawhorses, a pull saw, and a LOT of latex gloves & sandpaper & foam brushes. Because I was doing some things in small increments (because of my work schedule, mostly), I ended up using more foam brushes than pygmy estimates. I didn't keep track of that stuff, but I think I spent about $100 on consumable supplies & do-dads... and all of the do-dads will come in handy for my new boat-building addiction!
