If that cedar HAS been up there for that many years, I'd buy one piece and cut it up and see how it bends. After a few years, it tends to lose it's cell integrity. Brittle..........snap!!! Once it starts to deteriorate, I'm not sure it can be effectively rehydrated.

The redwood and mahogany probably won't work with the CA's because of it's composition. I don't know about the mahogany, but, the redwood has some strange " acidic?? " quality. When it gets wet, it bleeds some sort of dark liquid that will stain anything it comes in contact with. I don't know the specifics, as I never studied it, just worked in it. Mahogany may just be an oily wood that won't except the CA.

I don't think I'd use the eccelerator on the CA until I tested it on a piece of wood and tried the resin over it. The eccelerator is a spray if I'm remembering right and would cover a few square inches of your surface area around the CA. ??????????? Just a thought. I don't know why the CA wouldn't work great by itself, for tacking spots and using glue as others have suggested.
