Even the thick CA will cure in 2 or 3 min on its own, but when working along a strip, gluing it inch by inch (glue 1 in, let set, glue next in. etc) you need that instant gratification that only accellerator will give you. Glues instantly.

But if you can clamp it, or hold it in place, I just wouldn't use CA anymore.

And the really insidious smell is the accelerator.
