Scarfing is easy and satisfying once you get it right. The main part of the secret is to get the plane sharp, really sharp. Once you get it razor sharp you have a good base for the final sharpening. Get a good primary bevel on the plane iron, frequently turn the iron over and lap the other face of the iron. Change to a fine stone and do a secondary bevel about 2 or 3 degrees less, don't forget to lap the other face. (I need a guide) When you get it right you will know it. Gary
