It's not that bad. I use a belt sander and a straightedge, and they come out pretty good. There is a jig for a router but I dont know where to get the plans. My scarfs look pretty good, but I must admit they are not perfect. Practice on some scrap first. A caution; the first one I did, I used thin plastic to keep the clamp from bonding, and the plastic got into the joint. Now I use a 1-1/2" strip with packing tape on it for the clamp.
