I like your ideas on color. I have been trying for years to get kayak manufacturers to think outside the five or so primary colors that seems to be the entire content of the paint stores of the manufacturers round the world (with very few exceptions).

Long time ago cars looked like kayaks do today: black, white and a limited array of simple primary colors and not much else. But there was a change some 30 years ago (as I remember it). I began to take notice when a new line of Volvos appeared in beautifully subdued, well-matched and exciting nuances. And then all other brands...

So when I ship a new kayak design I often submit a couple of color suggestions (as for the Black Pearl rendering that Dan included earlier in the thread). But it is "too expensive", "too complicated" and "not what the customers want" (well, how do they know?).

So a tip of the hat, Dan. More like that out there on the waters to beautify the scenery...
