Hi Justin, glad to meet you here, it looks like europeans need to cross the ocean in order to meet eachother :) Where do you live in Hungary, I would like to meet your carpenter :) here the problem is that I could not find such clear lumber. Carpenters are a lot.
A good friend of mine from Budapest, Kiss Csaba, you might know him as as you are not many builders in Hungary too, told me, the strips for a kayak made from siberian larch would be about 150 EUR(bead &cove included) but seemed too much to me
