Ok, first test of the ebonizing. The steel wool pad isn't completely disolved but the liquid was almost black, so I tried a little on both cypress and WRC, while it's not completely black, it's pretty close. Maybe a very very dark brown and it can be recoated and the grain is very visible. Btw, it doesn't change color instantly, after about a half hour it's turned "black".

This is pretty cool, you gotta try it :)
