I don't know how I could be more specific but I'll try.
If you build one boat using the vacuum infusion process the cost of the boat and the time element involved equal everything it takes to seek, buy, assemble, check out, and test run plus all the money the equipment and all other necessary materials cost.
A single kayak built under those circumstances has to be THE MOST EXPENSIVE HULL EVER BUILT. Since private builders can't write off the costs of their hobbies on their tax returns, VI looks like a technique that will not find a lot of practitioners. For any that can afford it I say go for it but I doubt it that includes very many of us.
If you haven't heard the US economy is going down the toilet as we speak and many of us are going to end up building $100 SOFs or building nothing at all.
