Sam, you are playing cards that aren't in this deck. This a DIY site for people who build in their basements and garages. People who, mostly, are building because they can't afford to buy. What your link shows looks like a basement laboratory at Carnagie-Mellon Univerity. To go thru all that for one boat looks excessively demanding in the learning curve, the time required, and, probably, very excessive in cost. I have a feeling that boat could have been bought off the shelf for less than it cost to build.
If the original poster can pay the freight for all that, God bless him, but I fear that scale of backyard boatbuilding is not going to catch on in this economic climate.
