I also did it about like the way Donovan did. I kept the dust from Dark Western Red Cedar, White Pine and plain ol white bread flour and mixed and matched with epoxy. I bought a ton of commercial wood colors and none of them were satisfactory. It been awhile but I was thinking I wet a small boat area I wanted to match with water, mixed the wet epoxy with the wood dust untill I got the exact match then when the epoxy putty was applied, dried and sanded, then wetted out with epoxy it matched. I'm not sure of this but I think that is what I did.
