Your mention of the dolphin chased mackerel jumping onto your deck reminded of an experience I had when I was sneaking around on dark in my recovery (training run) one evening. A fairly large garfish was spooked out of the water and almost landed in my lap. I got such a surprise that I did nothing for too long and the fish managed to wriggle off my deck and back into the water. [yet another one of those 'fish got away' stories :) ]

Next time it would be nothing to scoop the next victim into the fold of my Tuitsoq.

I don't know if that would be passive or active fishing :D

But maybe an advantage of night paddling

Mind you the next level: getting smacked on the side of the head with a wet fish wouldn't be alot of fun.

Happy festive season and be careful out there.

Cheers Pete
