The idea of fishing in salt water brings out the connotation of " BIG WATER" but in reality , some of the best fishing in salt water is not the big water but the rivers that flow into the estuaries, areas where the shrimp and juvenile fish are raised and seek shelter, thus bringing larger fish to feed on the " BAIT". These areas of "SALT WATER" are probably narrower than the area of fresh water lakes and rivers that many people experience. The bigger the water does not mean that the bigger fish you catch. There are many areas that a small boat can go to fish where stability is no problem. You have to be adventurous and inovative. This is what I do, I love fishing and kayaking and have been able to incorcorate the two into one. I have also incorporated the use of a Hobie Cat into my fishing, in my younger days. Most of the time where I fish the water is no more than three foot deep. This is only my opinion and thoughts. You are only limited by your by your experience, so start out with one thing then work yourself to what you want. And the stories on this forum are all experiences that people have had to give " YOU" the best advise that they have learned from.
