: Whoa thems is some nice sized fish. The handline set on my Expedition Single
: is rigged up as described by a buddy who caught a 5ft long tropical
: barracuda from a kayak.

: I am still waiting for my own fish of the day ;)

: Fishing from a kayak is without doubt exciting and the bigger game fish would
: be 'Old man of the sea' exciting.

: Mind you I am not so sure I would be so keen on having an angry little bitey
: between my legs :( , no matter how tasty it would be smoked :D

: Be careful out there

: Cheers Pete

Hi Pete,
Angry bitey things get real passve if you whack 'em with a norsaq. Fish, that is. :)
Oh yeah, a cedar one will dent a bit, hardwood edges are good.

It can get exciting when you hook one, one of the reasons my hand-line is not attached to anything but itself. It floats so if it goes, I can find it again. Usually.
It's even more fun when dolphin are hunting, I've had mackerel jump onto my deck to get away. Bad move. :D Dinner. But the dolphin were ok with it.

Looking at some of the pictures of 'fishing' SOT,s amazes me, I've seen inshore fishing boats with less equipment on them.
